FAQs
- What is this show about?
-
The Rosa Lee Show is a Deaf one-woman show combining a live multimedia performances with traditional storytelling, ASL poetry, comedy skits, video shows, signed songs, and much more.
- How long is the show?
-
Approximately one hour and twenty minutes. There is no intermission.
- Is the show “family friendly”?
-
Yes. However, the show is not designed specifically for young audiences, so most younger children have a hard time paying attention throughout the whole during the show. But it should not be offensive to any parents who brought their young ones along.
- Why do two people have to travel with the show?
-
The show is not a traditional one-person performance, where a performer stands in front of the audience and shares stories or poems. The Rosa Lee Show has been written and designed to incorporate audio, visual, and lighting elements, creating a full-blown multimedia theatrical experience for the audience.
Because the show requries all these elements (see the Technical Requirements) it also requires two people: the performer and the technical director.
- Can we use a voice interpreter for your show?
-
The show is designed primarily for a signing audience (both hearing and Deaf) and we recommend that the show be billed as “ASL Only” so that hearing signers (CODAs, interpreters, etc) can enjoy the show as it is meant to be seen without the distraction of a someone else’s voice.
